PDA requests meeting with GP Federations NI following members’ unhappiness with pay award proposal

The PDA has recently written to the management at GP Federations NI (GPFED NI) to request an urgent meeting. This follows a PDA member meeting where attendees unanimously agreed that their pay proposal was unacceptable and they would be willing to “take whatever action is necessary.”

International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) supports Safer Pharmacies Charter

FIP has become the latest organisation to support the PDA's Safer Pharmacies Charter. The Charter consists of seven commitments to improve safety and care for patients, through better working conditions in UK pharmacy practice.

ASDA pharmacists encouraged to contact PDA Member Support Centre with any concerns over changes

PDA calls on employers to make reasonable adjustments

An award winning student’s contribution to pharmacy

The PDA recently caught up with Olivia Donnelly, winner of the Student Leadership category in the 2024 Northern Ireland Healthcare Awards to discuss the steps she took while studying at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) to contribute to the world of pharmacy. PDA launches election 2024 manifesto

Health and social care are key features of the UK general election in 2024, with pharmacy and pharmacists being specifically mentioned in televised debates and political party manifesto pledges. The Pharmacists' Defence Association (PDA) has launched a manifesto with key asks of the next government to improve access to safe and effective NHS care for patients and support the vital pharmacist workforce.
