VACCINATIONS: All vaccinations delivered by suitably trained pharmacists have always been covered by indemnity insurance as part of the standard PDA membership apart from Covid-19. For new membership renewals after January 1st, 2026, Covid-19 vaccinations are now also automatically covered.

  • Petition to Reject Remote Pharmacist Proposals and Keep Pharmacists Present for Patients reaches over 8,000 signatures

    A public petition against government proposals which could see pharmacies operating without the presence of a Responsible Pharmacist has received over 8,000 signatures. The PDA urge you to help increase the current figure, if the petition reaches 10,000 signatures it will receive a response from the government.

  • How are practice based pharmacists doing? A summary of the results of the PDA’s surveys of pharmacists and GP practices

    Between May and September 2017 we carried out two surveys of pharmacists working in general practice. One was aimed at pharmacists and the other, at GPs and surgery staff. They explored prior and current experience, work patterns, employment status and the role of the pharmacist in the practice, as well as looking at where pharmacists were perceived to be adding most value.
